Do You Think You May Have Bought a Fake?

We help brand owners protect their intellectual property. If you are a consumer who believes you’ve purchased a fake, please contact the manufacturer directly. We have put together a few steps to help you navigate the process of fighting fakes.

Here’s a few general steps to take and some resources if you think you’ve bought a fake.

What should I do?

  • Stop using the product. There can be safety issues.
  • You may be entitled to a refund if you have purchased a fake.
  • Contact the seller and let them know you believe you have purchased a fake.
  • Contact your credit card company and request a refund.
  • Contact the brand owner and let them know you have purchased a fake.

You can also go to Stopfakes.gov for information on how to report counterfeits to the National Intellectual Property Rights Coordination Center as well as the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
